Trolley Returns Thursday to Downtown Appleton

Free rides on an old-school trolley are back.
The Downtown Cool Trolley returns Thursday to
take riders free-of-charge to multiple downtown and
riverfront locations in Appleton.
The red trolley-style bus will run Thursdays and
Fridays from 5 to 11 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.
m. to 11 p.m. throughout the summer. This is the
fifth year for the trolley, which has found its niche
in connecting visitors between various downtown
locations.
The Downtown Cool Trolley is supported by
Appleton Downtown Inc., a business advocacy
group, in partnership with Valley Transit. The
trolley and service are provided by Lamers Bus
Lines.
The trolley makes 12 stops along College Avenue
and the riverfront area on W. Water Street and at the
Between the Locks complex, with all stops marked
by signage featuring a red trolley icon.
The route runs every 20 minutes.
The trolley stops at The History Museum at the
Castle on College Avenue, the corner of Morrison
Street and College Avenue, Valley Transit’s Transit
Center on Washington Street, the corner of Appleton
Street and College Avenue, the corner of Superior
Street and College Avenue, the front of the Fox Cities
Performing Arts Center on College Avenue, Appleton
Bicycle Shop on State Street, the corner of State and
Sixth Streets, Fratello’s Riverfront Restaurant on N.
Water Street, Trolley Square on S. Olde Oneida
Street, the Between the Locks complex, and the Fox
River Mills Apartments on Water Street.
